31 Days to Declutter Your Life - DAY 6 (Continuing the Kitchen - The Cabinets)

Now that the counters are clear, toaster is cleaned out, the microwave has been cleaned and everything that was on the floor is put away (Well, that was me.  You probably didn't have to do that part), it is time to move onto cleaning out the cabinets.

I opened all my cabinets and took pictures first.

Pretty embarrassing, huh?!?  I really need to have my husband make a shelf so that there are two levels in this cabinet.  Right now it is horrible to stack things, so I, literally, just throw things in here after they have been washed.

This cabinet isn't in our kitchen anymore.  We moved it to our mud room (you'll see that later).  I still have all sorts of tupperware in here as well so I thought I would include it in my organizing of cabinets.

Not too bad, but there is still stuff in here we don't need.

I started with all the tupperware.  I took everything out of the cabinets and dumped them on the floor.  I the sorted to make sure all my containers had lids.  If they didn't have a lid, I pitched them!  While everything was out of the cabinets, I wiped them out to make sure they were clean and ready for everything to go back in.

I also went to the Dollar Store to pick up some clear shoe box containers.  I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to use them for, but I knew I could use them for something.  :-)  What I really want to get are some of the organizers that you can screw on the inside of the cabinet doors to put things in.  But right now we are trying to watch our spending to the $1/ea shoe boxes will have to work.

As I clean, I will let you know more about how I decided to organize things.
